Essentially just a take-out counter and four tables, Bululu has a vegetarian-friendly menu of handmade arepas (a griddled, gluten-free corn flatbread) stuffed with avocado, Venezuelan cheeses, plantains, beans or meat. A single arepa makes for a substantial enough sandwich when paired with the excellent homemade plantain & yucca chips with guasacaca (a thin guacamole-like dip). Wash them down with sugar cane juice or Venezuelan rum-based tropical cocktails served in mason jars. Due to the small size, you’ll probably have to wait but turnover is fast. Arepas available to-go, too.
