Our Guide to Paris: Chamarré Montmartre
Chef Antoine Heerah’s cooking at Chamarré is as colorful as the name implies, drawing on the flavors and ingredients of his native Mauritius — and all around the Indian ocean — and fusing them with French technique. Sit outside, if you can.

- Alexander Lobrano (2009) “…one of the most guileless, intelligent and original fusion cuisines currently available in Paris.”
- John Talbott (2009) “…I had the fancy-schmancy wild Garenne rabbit rollatines (6 € supplement) with foie gras and dozens of other ingredients that I could neither keep track of nor cared to. I didn’t finish it, quickly ordering coffee, finishing my wine and deedeemowing out of there.”

A Year in the Mouth

this is one of my favorite restaurants in my hood. Chef Antoine is just a big friendly force. And, they have a nicely priced lunch menu (at least they did last time I was there about 5 months ago) which runs on the weekend as well! i want to say 17 Euros for two courses, but like i said it’s been 5 months since i did the lunch so maybe give or take a few.
update: i just noticed that the lunch menu prices went up to 23 euros & 29 euros. but it’s still a good deal in my opinion.
