  1. So the Parisians hate it, big dea! What don’t they hate, unless it has a Michelin *?!

Upon recommendation from a our little ****hotel de charme, we went to the VI Location and had a wonderful time with excellent service. It’s mid-June, we went at 8:30, and were seated immediately. As previous reviewers noted, the steak was perfectly prepared, the (secret) sauce tasty, and the frites perfect and crispy. The bottle of rose met expectations for 18 euros. We shared the profiteroles and loved the chocolate sauce. Kudos to Christina, our excellent server! This was just a nice change of pace and a delightful experience.

  2. If you want the worst dining experience of your life, go here! This is nothing but a tourist trap, as are all the “relais de l’entrecote”-restaurants or with similar names anywhere else. Save yourself the disgustion of this $1 meat, horrible sauce and the worst wine you’ve ever had!

  3. An old parisian restaurant that owns his fame only to the touristic guides…. The POOREST service I have ever recieved. As a parisian I will NEVER EVER go back there again nor will I advise it to anyone. I felt like in a refectory with waitresses who have nothing to do with the nice and smiling ones advertised on their website.

Just because there are always 40-50 people waiting outside doesn’t give you the right to treat us like animals. Being welcome in a restaurant means being greeted and given information when asked. But in le Relais de l’Entrecote the only greeting you receive is a waitress yelling the number of people she can get in, not even a bonsoir. When you ask for a clean plate the waitress coldly refuses ( a clean plate only!!!???). The food? well, you can definitely get better in an old parisian brasserie. The sauce is greasy, the meet is so thin and if you dare asking for a little more vinaigrette in your salad, the only response you get is “there is already enough in it, it is homemade madame!”

The place is OVER NOISY, the tables are so close to each other I could hear people chewing they’re meet (because table is money, you know!), The big blond waitress is probably the one noted as “the german rude” one in some other reviews.

So you made me live the most shameful moments in my life with my foreigner friends who will keep this as the last memory of there parisian week… I don’t even eat meet and came with them just because they had heard about the “great Relais de l’Entrecote”. I wouldn’t recommand this place even if you are starving. There are tons of other restaurant when you can eat entrecote without being afraid…

    BAD BAD BAD!

To all the people planning to come here just google translate the reviews from parisians in this French newspaper: http://scope.lefigaro.fr/…/l-r218618-le-relais…/static/

  4. Hi Noa, we haven’t tested all of these locations or compared them to the original. I’ve personally been only to the Saint-Germain location. Anyone else have thoughts on the matter?

  5. Is there any difference between the locations? Also what is the difference between these 3 locations and the original le relais de venise?

  6. I was at the Bordeaux restaurant and raved, now my friend wants to try in Paris,
Problem……..He likes the sauce to be served separately, even if it is the star of the show.
    Is this possible?

  7. If someone could tell me how they make the sauce that would be amazing as it’s truly incredible.

  8. We.took.our 3.kids and.loved it. The.sauce was really good.- not.too.rich, flavorful, perfect.for.the steak. The fries are perfect. All the desserts were delicious.our steak was.ordered “medium rare “.and it was.almost raw. Which was fine.for.me, but too.undercooked.for my 10.year old.

  9. This is where I take anyone and everyone when they are in from out of town. it is touristy without being too touristy and SOOOOoooo delicious. The sauce is to die. I usually show up by 7:30 and have no problem with the line. Only one time did I cut it a little close as Sundays I think the line forms a bit earlier with less restaurants open.

  10. Un, what’s different about March 14th? It’s open 7/7 and while everyday in France is a Saint/Sainte’s day, Saint Lubin was a rather minor one. They open at 12 noon. There are also several, sort of like Ray’s Original Pizza in the Village.

  11. Well what a fantastic experience ! Reviews on this great website parisbymouth are like gold to intrepid travelers are gourmands like me. I went to the Montparnasse restaurant and as previous folks suggested, it is wise to arrive early. I set up residence at a local bar (next door) enjoyed a drink and the passing parade. At 7pm the load was very light but I headed the advice and went in. It was advice well taken as by 7.20pm a queue was forming. All you need to say is how you like your steak (saignant pour moi) and what you want to drink. Then strap in for the ride. A beautifully dressed salade to start then the wonderfully tender and perfectly cooked steak, knapped with a deliciously complex almost velvety sauce. Pomme Frites on the side, crisp and golden. Once you’ve finished – more comes ! This is serious quality, and made for a thoroughly enjoyable dinner.

  12. I send a lot of clients here. So easy for folks who don’t speak French. You get one meal and one meal only. No need to know how to order. And it is delicious.

  13. Thanks Paris by Mouth! My last night in Paris…looking for a restaurant in the Latin Quarter, saw your recommendation. We got there just in time to get a table outside before the line started. Great food, the best steak frites and the sauce! And All you can eat! By the time we left, the line was down the street…and it was a Monday!
