Reviews of interest
- Aaron Ayscough (2011) “The wines are…hubristically overpriced…It’s a wine-themed business venture.”
- Emmanuel Rubin – Figaroscope (2011) “…on n’hésiterait pas à tripler les cœurs côté cave (500 références dont 40 au verre, très grands crus compris). Las, les nourritures servies en appui brinquebalent encore.”

Went past last night. The sign says “bar à grands vins” which is their way of telling you it’s going to be expensive. €13.50 for soup and salad?
Anyway, the ragtag collection of leery office workers in nasty suits put me right off, and we decided to go elsewhere. Definitely the right choice!
I have been to O’Chateau several times – in the afternoons, not at night – I love the room, the music, the availability of small pours and ‘flights’ of wine for tastings and how nice it is to simply hang out there with friends for a couple of easy going hours. I’ve met some very nice people at O’Chateau as well.
As my Pépe used to say “Chacun son mauvais gout” (each to his own bad taste)
I have to say, I’ve been to several wine bars throughout Paris, this has to be the most pleasant, because of the size, location, and the diversity, The selections of wines was enormous and a price to suit everyone. Olivier one of the co-owners is extremely amicable and knowledgeable about the wines. What people like or dislike is truly subjective!
