  1. On the one hand, I am pleased to see the opening of this delicious shop in our favorite street of the Marais. On the other, I feel unutterably sad that the shop has torn out and done away with the fine old halfmoon doors that were once the entrance to this ancient hotel particulier. My family and I rented an apartment upstairs in this glorious place for six months on a sabbatical. Set back from the street, we still had a view across to the centre Catalan leaning against its neighbor, and we could also watch for friends coming down the tiny rue Aubriot. I hope there are still apartments upstairs not gone all twee or painted purple where real people can live. Perhaps they have another secret door from which to enter now.

  2. We were there last week. These macaroons are amazing. We tried as many pastries as possible during our week in Paris, and without a doubt these were some of the most memorable.
