There may not be an abundance of children’s menus in Paris, but this doesn’t mean that families are relegated to McDonald’s. Our contributing advisors have put their heads together and come up with this list of places that please both children and parents alike – restaurants that feature simple food, kind service, proximity to open space, and/or good drink options for mom & dad. Their overall favorite: the Breizh Café.
This popular, prize-winning pizzeria has moved to a larger, pop-art space, with room for the whole family.
“Breakfast burrito” and “Paris” can now be uttered in the same sentence, thanks to this new food truck, which serves an all-organic menu of burgers, tacos, cupcakes and milkshakes.
Forget about café crème and go for a flat white at this Aussie-inspired shop, one of the new wave of serious coffee places popping up in Paris. Also on order are fresh juices, sandwiches, and house-made tea cakes and scones.
This tidy crêpe spot near rue Mouffetard is short on the usual Breton bric-a-brac, and long on quality.
Another brunch spot with an Anglo accent, in this case both British (porridge, scones, an English breakfast) and American (fluffy blueberry pancakes, a BLT).
At this café/exhibition space on a quiet impasse near Place de Clichy, a pair of former Rose Bakery cooks are giving modern British cooking a very good name, and a serious barista is serving some of the best coffee in town.
It’s pizza by the kilo at this (vaguely) Roman-style spot. Bright lights, high stools and cheap wine by the carafe. Locations in Oberkampf and the upper Marais.
Facing a very pretty square, Drouant has been around since 1880. Now run by Antoine Westermann, the menu offers elegantly updated classics with an emphasis on seafood.
The city’s most buttery, authentic crêpes served in an old-school dining room full of dark wood and Breton lace.
At Le Relais de L’Entrecôte, the choices are steak or steak, and the supply of golden fries is unending. Which is how the line to be seated will seem unless you go early. Three locations.
When only organic and environmentally responsible vegetarian pizza delivered on a skateboard or electric scooter will do, there’s Green Pizz.
