It’s that time of year again: time for us to appreciate the variety and beauty of wild animals… with our mouths. Time to taste of the bunny, the bambi, the boar, and the buckshot. Bite down carefully, and bite here, at the following selection of game-savvy restaurants preferred by our gang of contributing advisors.
Sidewalk seats are easy to come by if you want to sip an apéro. Outdoor dining is a trickier proposition. There are plenty of gorgeous spots where the food is grim, and there are delicious restaurants where the outdoor seating is drab. A handful of restaurants manage to do both – serving excellent food in delightful open-air surroundings. Here are our favorites.
Events
- Omnivore just announced their next event: 100% Ravioli, on May 16, will feature all manner of filled pastas “from Provence to Asia,” courtesy of chef Christophe Dufau, up from Vence, and Jeremiah Stone, who works with Giovanni Passerini at Rino. [Omnivore]
- The annual Grand Prix de la Baguette competition is happening today! Stay tuned for the results.
- If that’s too many carbs for you, Thursday marks the launch of bohemian/often-half-naked butcher Yves-Marie Le Bourdonnec’s “I Love Bidoche” movement (translation: I love meat!), kicking off with a party at Maison Aubrac.
This MIchelin one-star is in a grand pavilion in the Bois de Boulogne.
