Where can you score a great steak frites in Paris? We asked our contributing advisors – a group of Paris-based food writers – to name five favorite places for a steak frites fix. The overall favorite: Le Severo.
Hearsay
- François Simon gives Kei Koyabashi a virtual cuddle and reports that his eponymous restaurant in the old Gérard Besson spot (5 rue du Coq-Héron, near the Palais-Royal) will open in early March. [Simon Says!]
Happy Plates
- Emmanuel Rubin gives
(out of 4) to Jaja, praising the crispy galette of pigs’ feet and a chestnut cream soup with bacon emulsion. There’s also talk of a take-out hot dog, composed of morteau sausage and Mont d’Or cheese. [Le Figaro] Jérôme Berger eats the same food and awards 4/5 dots. [A Nous Paris]
- Berger also pays a visit to Jean-Louis Nomicos at Les Tablettes in the spot of the now-closed La Table de Joël Robuchon. He’s delighted to find, in the heart of the bling-bling 16th, a four-course lunch plus coffee and wine (the latter presented via iPad) for 58€. [A Nous Paris]
La Table de Joël Robuchon is now closed. Look for Robuchon at his other Paris locations, L’Atelier Etoile de Joël Robuchon, and L’Atelier Saint-Germain de Joël Robuchon.
