Where can you score a great steak frites in Paris? We asked our contributing advisors – a group of Paris-based food writers – to name five favorite places for a steak frites fix. The overall favorite: Le Severo.
- Barbra continues her fascination with oddly-named British things, delighting in the kedgeree (curried rice, smoked haddock, egg) and posset (cream, sugar, sometimes poison) at Le Bal Café. She admits to having brunched there on three of the past four Sundays. [Barbra Austin]
- Dorie Greenspan is back in Paris and on the prowl. The pastry queen (featured in the current issue of O, The Oprah Magazine) takes a few puffs at Popelini, a new shop in the Marais specializing in choux à la crème. Get there early, she advises, before the cream puffs sell out just after lunch. [Dorie Greenspan]
- D-Leb changes his mind about berry-filled chocolates after tasting the “fluted little beauties” with raspberry paste by Nunu Chocolates. This Brooklyn-based duo have set up a temporary pop-up shop inside the Brachfeld Galleryand will be selling their wares and workshops through April 26. [David Lebovitz]
