Here are your options for celebrating New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day in Paris restaurants.

New Year’s Eve (December 31)

Staggeringly Expensive (more than 600€ without wine)

Alain Ducasse at the Plaza Athénée – The tasting menu at this restaurant now specializing in vegetables, grains and fish is serving a 1200€ tasting menu not including drinks, or 1500€ including wine pairings. That’s some expensive quinoa! Evening attire required.

Le Meurice - Now that Ducasse has taken over the kitchens at Le Meurice, their NYE menu price has also been raised to 1200€, or 220€ more than last year for the exact same menu. Not including drinks, the menu features sea scallops with white Alba truffles, duck foie gras with black truffles, langoustines with Chardonnay sauce, turbot with caviar, lobster with pumpkin and black truffle, poularde with truffles, Brie de Meaux with truffles and desserts.

Le Cinq – Now under chef Christian Le Squer, Le Cinq will be offering a special menu for 1250€ with a Ray Ventura-style jazz orchestra. Details of the menu have not yet been released.

Ledoyen – Now under chef Yannick Alleno, Ledoyen will be serving a 9-course menu for 750€ with wine pairings for an additional 300€. Langoustine tartare, truffled foie gras, sea urchins, celeri root pot-au-feu with truffles, fallow deer (chevreuil) with vanilla scented pumpkin, truffled Vacherin and a chocolate dessert involving, again, truffles. La Tour d’Argent – For 650€ (not including drinks) their menu includes blue lobster, roasted scallops with truffles, chicken with truffled foie gras, turbot with champagne sauce and New Year’s Eve duckling filet with souffléed potatoes, topped off with cheese and dessert. Gala attire required – tuxedos for men, and long evening dresses for women; booking (accompanied by a credit card) required.

Very Expensive (more than 200€ without wine)

Les Ombres - for 420€ per person including Champagne, the multi-course menu includes a carpaccio of sea scallops, crispy langoustines in a Thai style sauce, roast barbue with melted leeks and sea snails, medallion of deer with sunchokes and roasted apple, pineapple with coriander, and a chocolate dessert, plus Champagne, mineral water, coffee, and an Eiffel Tower view.

Lucas Carton – for 409€ with wine pairings or 339€ without wine, the menu includes a truffle coated in pastry, lobster ravioli, poularde with truffled salsify, pineapple with coriander, and a truffled Saint-Honoré dessert.

Le 39V will be offering an 8-course menu including a Champagne apéritif for 345€ or with wine pairings for 465€. The menu includes line-caught sea bass, sea scallops, a vegetable course, Chapon de Bresse, truffled Brie de Meaux, exotic fruit salad and dessert.

Le Violon d’Ingres – The “Caviar and Truffles” themed menu for 250€ includes a soft-boiled egg with caviar, scallops and lobster with a caviar emulsion, marinated lamb with a truffled risotto cake, topped off by a truffled Mont d’Or, dessert, and a surprise present. Also served at a reduced price on New Year’s Day.

Les Tablettes – Les Tablettes will serve a five-course menu for 265€ without wine or 390€ with wine pairings, beginning with truffles and violet artichokes, followed by line-caught sea bass, Chapon des Landes with foie gras and cêpes, and topped off by a truffled Mont d’Or, a citrus dessert and chocolates.

Expensive (more than 90€ without wine)

Au Clocher de Montmartre – For 99€ including a a glass of Champagne, a bottle of wine and bottled water, Au Clocher de Montmartre is offering a New Year’s Eve menu with a choice of foie gras or comté ravioli served in a velvety pumpkin soup with a truffle emulsion, filet of sea bass or guinea fowl with mushrooms, and a choice between two Buche de Nöel. Also includes coffee and mignardises. Prepayment required. Reserve online.

Au Passage - For 100€ including a glass of Champagne, Au Passage, one of our favorite Paris restaurants, will be serving a 7- course New Year’s menu featuring classic holiday fare: oysters, foie gras, truffles, scallops. Reserve online to get one of the last tables available.

Chamarré Montmartre – 159€ will get you an 8-course menu including: warm oysters served with yuzu, marbled quail, foie gras and smoked eel served with beetroot and hibiscus, a lobster and squid course, and duck aiguillettes. Cap it all off with a cheese course and two desserts. Prepayment required. Reserve online.

Le Moulin de la Galette – For 139€ , they will be serving a menu with pumpkin soup and scallops, foie gras and toasted brioche, steamed cod with shellfish sauce, veal with morel mushrooms, and a red berry Buche de Nöel. Prepayment required. Reserve online.

La Ferme Saint-Simon – For 140€ they will be serving a multi-course menu featuring foie gras, carpaccio of sea bass, turbot, beef filet mignon, dessert and cheese. Wine not included. Two services at 7:30pm and 9:30pm.

Porte 12 - Serving a special New Year’s Eve menu at 120€ per person with a wine pairing option for an additional 65€. Reservations can be made online.

Terroir Parisien – Both Bistrot Terroir Parisien in the 5th arrondissement and at the Palais Brongniart will serve a 5-course menu for 90€ or a 7-course menu for 110€ (not including drinks). Common denominators: roasted scallops with Jerusalem artichokes and hazelnut, stag with a truffled potato tourte, truffled Fougerus, and a praline dessert served with clementine sorbet. Pottoka - Serving a 115€ menu (not including wine), with sea scallop tartare, truffled eggs, Langoustine ravioli with truffles and parmesan, Poularde de Bresse suprême with truffled gnocchi, truffled Brie de Meaux and a chocolate chaud-froid dessert. To reserve, 50% deposit required in cash or cheque.

Verjus – Serving a 150€ menu (250€ with wine and Champagne pairings), this favorite has already sold out both services on December 31, but they have added seats at a communal dining table in the private dining room upstairs for both services (6:30pm and 10pm). Moderate (less than 90€)

Le Chateaubriand - For 85€ without wine or 170€ with wine pairings, Le Chateaubriand will be serving up a special New Year’s Menu. One service from 7-9pm and by reservation only. Le Dauphin will also be open, à la carte and by reservation only.

Les Cocottes de Christian Constant - The restaurant will be serving a special à la carte menu only available on December 24-25 and 31, and January 1. Traditional new year’s ingredients, including: marinated salmon, oyster tartare, foie gras, scallop and lobster mousse, beef tournedos, as well as their most reasonably-priced cocottes.

Le Café Constant - In addition to their regular menu which will be available, Café Constant will also serve an à la carte holiday menu featuring holiday classics like grilled scallops, lobster ravioli, roast chicken from the Landes in addition to surprises like wild boar and onion stew, and truffled Toulouse sausage.

Unico – For 80€ including wine, Unico will serve an Argentinian 4-course New Year’s menu meal featuring escabeche, flank steak roulade, and entrecôte with quinoa salad, capped off by a dulce de leche dessert.

Brasseries and bouillons open 365 days/year: Le Pied de Cochon, Chez Jenny and all of the Flo brasseries (Bofinger, La Coupole, Julien, Le Vaudeville, Terminus Nord, Brasserie Balzar, Le Boeuf sur le Toit), and Chartier (very inexpensive).

New Year’s Day (January 1)

Le Meurice – For 180€, nurse that hangover with a copious buffet or their à la carte menu which includes : eggs with truffles (again) and a choice of a Suprême de Volaille, Lobster with matchstick fries, or comté-truffle mac n’ cheese.

Le Café Constant - In addition to their regular menu which will be available, Café Constant will also make a holiday à la carte menu available featuring holiday classics like grilled scallops, lobster ravioli, roast chicken from the Landes in addition to surprises like wild boar and onion stew, and truffled Toulouse sausage.

Les Cocottes de Christian Constant The restaurant will be serving a special à la carte menu only available on December 24-25 and 31, and January 1. Traditional new year’s ingredients, including: marinated salmon, oyster tartare, foie gras, scallop and lobster mousse, beef tournedos, as well as their most reasonably-priced cocottes.

Les Tablettes – Les Tablettes will serve a five-course menu for 170€ without wine or 260€ with wine pairings, beginning with truffles and violet artichokes, followed by line-caught sea bass, Chapon des Landes with foie gras and cêpes, and topped off by a truffled Mont d’Or, a citrus dessert and chocolates. Also served on New Year’s Eve.

Le Violon d’Ingres – For 150€ (100€ less than the night before), the “Caviar and Truffles” themed menu includes a soft-boiled egg with caviar, scallops and lobster with a caviar emulsion, marinated lamb with a truffled risotto cake, topped off by a truffled Mont d’Or and dessert.
