In Other Words
Le Figaro (2018) dubs Le Train Bleu “the best comeback” of 2018, with a “nostalgic” ambiance and “self-aware flamboyance.”
Le Monde (2018) makes the frankly odd decision to write a review entirely in the second person, delivering its pronouncements of Le Train Bleu’s “mouthwatering” veal rib steak and “not terribly successful” modern desserts to an imagined interlocutor, Henriette Fauche, whose 1900 portrait appears on the ceiling.
Conde Nast Traveler reports that while “it’s hard to believe one of Paris’ most serene, picturesque and dignified restaurants is also located within one of its busiest train stations,” le Train Bleu is offers “gorgeous French food, gorgeously presented.” A special nod to the servers, who are “attentive and caring—and frankly, used to dealing with tourists—which makes them among the best in the city.”
