  1. I’m a bit confused about this restaurant. Has it changed hands since your review? I have been twice now and the food has been a bit patchy.

I reserved on short notice for my 3 work colleagues with one night in Paris on way back from Africa to the U.S. We arrived a little early and they were closed, but when we returned, we got one of the last tables nearly in the open kitchen. The proprietor’s wife was feeding green beans to a baby in her lap just next to us! Yes, busy with only one waiter/server but we were certainly not in a hurry and the warm simple coziness was welcome! Two of us had a delicious fish dish and the others both had chicken. Acceptable country wine. All in all, a good choice for our road weary group.

  3. Having read the various reviews, I suppose my expectations were heightened enough to be disappointed by both the food and the service. The food was luke warm by the time it arrived and not especially great. Very average is probably the best I would rate it. Re service, having one person at the front of the house isn’t enough, especially when the place is full. Taking time over service is one thing, being scattered is a whole another. And the kitchen wasn’t exactly clean. Very disappointing.
