Praise for Diane

We were guided to the best croissants, chocolates, cheesemonger and butcher in the district, and our tour ended with a tasting of all of our food at a wine shop. Diane is beloved by all of the owners – and she really showed us what it would be like to live as a Parisian in the city. I can’t wait to experience the other neighborhood tours that Paris by Mouth does – my goal is to do all of them, they are THAT good!

My husband and I took the Taste of Saint Germaine tour the day after arriving in Paris. It was hands down, the best food and wine tour I’ve experienced. Diane, our guide, was very knowledgeable, personable and energetic. This tour is highly recommended for all, first timers and seasoned people to Paris.

This was my second tour with Paris by Mouth, and this time I booked the tour of Left Bank with Diane. She was very (impressively) knowledgeable and entertaining, and the group had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the food and wine we got to try. It was great to be able to sit down after walking for a couple of hours, and share our food and wine experiences in France over wine, charcuterie and cheese. I continue ‘advertising’ the tour and the guide to my friends.

Thanks to Diane for enriching our experience of Parisian culture. We truly enjoyed a tour that impacted all of our senses – with great information about food, art, architecture, Diane created a very full experience without an overwhelming amount of information. As a single mom with 2 tween boys, I appreciated her balanced approach. Diane accommodated all of the different personalities in a way that facilitated conversation – no small feat. In addition, we felt safe – despite two serious food allergies that are challenging in Paris – gluten and tree nuts. Since the tour, Diane provided multiple emails of follow up offering additional guidance during and after our trip. I am really grateful to her for her level of engagement. I highly recommend this experience.

I was one of only two people on the tour on this day, so can only speak to my experience of a somewhat undersold tour in January on a slightly drizzly day — it was great! Diane, our guide, was a gracious and knowledgeable host. I learned how to spot a true butter croissant, got tips on Parisian market and shopping etiquette, and heard about the history of the food/shops and area we were touring. And all that combined with tasty bites along the way and a final stop at a cozy wine bar to try more food items that had been collected along the way, paired with various wines, coupled with information on the wine making regions of France. Diane obviously had a good relationship with the workers/owners of the shops we visited, and was also quick to make needed changes, as the meat vendor at the market she normally buys from was unexpectedly closed, but no problem — she whisked us away to another quaint shop around the corner for some equally delicious choices. I highly recommend this tour!

We booked the tour months ahead of our trip and we were so glad we did. We took the tour with Diane in St. Germaine on our fist full day in Paris. It was the perfect introduction to this beautiful city and its food and wine scene. Diane is very friendly, passionate, knowledgeable, curated a great itinerary for us. It was the perfect balance between learning, sampling, sharing with your fellow travelers. We learned a lot about the different wine regions, types of cheeses, what to look for in a perfectly baked croissant. My boyfriend and I loved the tour and would love to take another tour with Paris by Mouth in a different district when we return.

Paris by Mouth was recommended to me by a friend who had recently been to Paris. Our tour was exceptional as Diane was a great guide both knowledgeable and personable. The whole family had a great time. We went back the next day to visit the same locations again…and plan on looking for walking food tours like this whenever we travel now.

Diane clearly has strong relationships and a wonderful rapport with the various shop owners, easily navigating busy venues and making her tour guests feel comfortable and welcome. We had a great time with the other guests a well, and very much enjoyed the intimate nature of the tour. There were only 6 total guests, which made for lots of time for good conversation during the wine tasting. Thank you, Diane, for one of our best Parisian experiences! When we return, we hope to do another tour. Merci beacoup!

Diane was the best! She has a lot of ‘fun facts’, we got email after the tour with recommendations.. We had a great time:)

Our guide was Diane and she was wonderful. Although we were late and missed her intro, she took time to pepper in bits throughout the tour so we could catch up. She has personal relationships with all of the vendors we visited and her knowledge of food and France is great! As a bonus, she also personally several foodie expats that I love following on Instagram (i.e., David Lebovitz, Dorie Greenspan, etc.). By the end, she felt like an old friend.

I did the food and wine tour in Saint Germaine recently with Diane and it was absolutely amazing. All the shops and food were great and Diane made the whole tour really fun. She was very knowledgable about the food we were eating, the shops, and Paris overall. I raved about the tour to everyone. I would highly recommend it.

I didn’t think this could exceed expectations but it did. Diane did an incredible job of not just explaining to us how to order, but her knowledge of the shops and their history was outstanding. As was her cheese selection. Frankly some of my best 3 hours in Paris. Highly recomend!

Of the experiences we did in France, this was without question my favourite. Our tour guide’s name was Diane and her professionalism together with her passion for her work and knowledge of food and Paris really made the experience.

Yesterday on a whim my sister and I booked a food tour with Paris By Mouth after reading all the positive reviews. Let me tell you that it was the BEST decision we ever made. We arrived in the afternoon just as the rain was letting up and join a tour with Diane. It was extremely educational, fun, & absolutely delicious. Not only was Diane educational regarding the food we were eating but also about the area of the Left Bank.

My wife and I booked the Paris By Mouth “Left Bank” tour and we were not disappointed! Our guide was Diane, Diane was super knowledgeable about French cuisine and the left bank sites that we encountered on our journey. This tour is worth every penny and recommend taking this tour the first day or two you’re in Paris, it will help you uncover wine, cheese shops, and bakery’s that you can frequent throughout your trip and also make you a more food savvy tourist!

A friend of mine actually did Taste of Le Marais and recommended Paris by Mouth to me, and I’m so glad she did! This was truly one of the best experiences in Paris I’ve had, and I’ve been multiple times. Great if you’re in Paris alone. I was! And this was really great b/c you mingled with your small group and it was so much fun. Our tour guide was Diane and we all LOVED her! She really knew the neighborhood, the shops we went to, the food (she picked the best things!) and was just a pleasure to be with! I loved it especially b/c we did stop & eat at each place; rather, we stopped in the stores, learned about the place/food and then at the end we went to the top of a wine store and shared all the food and wine with our group. So much fun! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I am so glad I signed up for this tour and I would highly recommend it! As a solo traveler, I was a little bit nervous about signing up alone. Diane made me feel super comfortable and welcome, and I met some amazing people in our group. Diane is extremely qualified when it comes to fine foods and wine–she has worked as a food writer for some of the top food publications in the world. She really knows her stuff! I learned so much about Parisian cheese, wine, chocolate, bread, and pastries on this tour. I even got a selfie with one of the most famous butchers in France. This tour is totally worth it; not your typically cheesy Paris food tasting. Check it out!

Took the Paris by Mouth St Germain tour with Diane. Was probably the highlight of our entire trip. Was great to visit the local artisans, learn about their craft, and eat and drink some fantastic stuff.

We totally enjoyed our Paris by Mouth tour with Diane. The pace of the tour was just right – and we never had to walk far to arrive at our next stop on the tour. All the places we visited were award-winning shops and the quality really stood out. Our last stop at the 2nd floor of the wine shop was especially fun, as we had the time to taste all the goodies Diane purchased along the way while sampling some very nice wines. A unique experience – and we were so full we skipped dinner!

We especially enjoyed the variety of foods and places we explored, and found Diane very knowledgeable of the area and the food and drink we consumed. We’ve been on several tours before, but found Diane was helpful in exposing the places and food only locals would know, as well as teaching us ways to navigate ordering food in a foreign place. The best part was that all the places, food and wine were detailed out for us in an email after the tour! A great touch. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great way to spend a few hours!

Fun and informative! Our tour leader Diane was so knowledgeable and brought us to wonderful shops, many of which I would not have otherwise known about. The group was just right size, the duration of the tour perfect as well. If I return to Paris will definitely book another tour with Paris by Mouth. Absolutely recommend PBM and Our tour leader Diane!

If I could give 5-plus stars, I would. Myself and my two adult children did the St.Germaine Tour with Diane, and it was the high point of our time in Paris. The company kept us up to date with emails before the tour, and Diane’s professionalism was perfect, as was her knowledge of the local food and wine and the people who provide the brilliant food. There were eight of us in the group and we all had a wonderful 3-4 hours, tasted world-class food and wine, and were all the richer for the experience. All the food and wine is included in your ticket and if there are any left-overs, you can take them away. We ate just about everything, though, so no doggie bags this time. I’ve been on food tours in New York and Australia, NOTHING has been as good as this tour. Thank you Paris by Mouth, thank you Diane.

The Taste of the Left Bank tour with Diane was fantastic! I couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide. I loved that it was a small group – it made it more of a personable experience and allowed everyone to bond over delicious food and wine. Diane was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what she does, which was a breath of fresh air. I can’t wait to go back and try all the hidden gems that were discussed. This is definitely a tour to do in the beginning of your trip as opposed to the end.

We did our tour with Diane who is incredibly knowledgable about food as a food writer for various food/wine magazines. Diane is from the US, so her English is obviously great, but she also speaks fluent French so she was able to converse easily in all of the stores we stopped by. We’ve done several food tours, so I do have other situations to compare this to. The food was AMAZING and I really enjoyed learning about all about how the food is made (i.e. the different cheeses/wines) and the classification systems and awards. I’m still dreaming about some of the cheeses and chocolates we tried! Diane was incredibly accommodating and you can tell she also has a passion for people and making sure everyone’s needs are getting met which can be hard with a group of 8 strangers! Would highly recommend this tour!

Loved my tour of St Germaine with Diane. Appreciated that the group is so small with only 8 people. Everyone can engage with her and ask whatever questions and the interchange amongst the group is comfortable and friendly. Diane is easy to talk to, knowledgeable about the area and certainly about the foods. She is warm and enthusiastic about the offerings and has an obvious friendly rapor with the locals in the market and neighborhood where we visited. She is a gracious host and I feel like the time flew and when parting, I was leaving a friend. A great experience of pastries, charcuterie and chocolates!! My taste of France has not disappointed.
