WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE

This exceptional Left Bank food tour moves between the historic Latin Quarter and elegant Saint-Germain along the beautiful, tree-lined Boulevard Saint-Germain. This intimate 3-hour culinary journey is limited to just 8 guests—small enough to access boutique shops that simply cannot accommodate larger tour groups. Your guide is a culinary professional with years of expertise in French food and wine—not a script-reading student, but a true expert who can teach you to identify quality like a Parisian.

Nearly everything we taste on this tour has won a “best of” prize of some sort, showcasing the pinnacle of Parisian baking, cheese-making, and chocolate artistry. We’ll usually begin our tour with a flaky and buttery croissant that was voted the best in Paris. You’ll visit a cheese shop run by a fromager who has earned the Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF) title—the highest rank for an artisan in France. Your guide will help you understand the art of aging cheese, regional differences, and how to select quality raw milk cheeses like a Parisian. We’ll later taste these exceptional cheeses with paired French wines in a beautiful vaulted wine cellar. You’ll also taste chocolate and pastries from prize-winning producers, visiting five shops of exceptional quality that vary by season, your guide’s expertise, and your cravings. You’ll eat enough that you won’t need a meal soon after.

ABOUT THis NEIGHBORHOOD

Saint-Germain is a destination for visitors from all around the world who come to shop and (most importantly) to eat. The eastern part of Saint-Germain is filled with historic cafés, independent bookstores, art and antique galleries, fashion boutiques, and exceptional food shops. This neighborhood’s rich literary and artistic legacy lives on in its charming streets, where every corner reveals another carefully curated culinary treasure.

PRICE & PRACTICAL DETAILS

Our very popular small group tours are limited to 8 guests. Tickets are priced at $150 per person, including generous food & wine tastings. Tours are led by food & wine experts and last around 3 hours. We’re mostly moving & standing during the first 1.5 hours, with a seated tasting the last half of the tour. The seated tasting in the winter is always indoors and cozy and with wine, making this a great activity for cold or rainy days. Just come prepared with an umbrella and good shoes for the first half of the tour.

We’ll send you the exact meeting point upon booking, but you can plan to finish near the Odéon metro stop.

CANCELLATIONS POLICY

Refunds are available for those who cancel with at least 48 hours notice minus a €20 cancellation fee per ticket. No refunds or changes are allowed within 48 hours of your tour. Clients who arrive more than ten minutes late without calling or not at all (no-shows) will be treated as cancellations with no refund. Our tours run rain or shine.

Clients who are booking tours within 24 hours of their arrival in Paris should be aware that we do not offer refunds in the case of delayed flights (because this is such a common occurrence).

  1. The Louvre? Sure. The Eiffel Tower? Yeah, you and 10,000 of your closest friends. Food tour of the gastronomic capital of the world? Insanely great. Maximum of 7 people. Three food shops, 1 food market and 1 wine shop. A taste at each of the 3 food shops, and an indoor picnic of food market items in the back room of the wine shop. Each purveyor was world class in their respective speciality. Seriously world class. Our guide Patrick is the most convivial and charming Irishman you’re likely to meet. Incredible command of the history and product of each shop as well as deep background of each speciality: bakery goods, chocolate, macarons, cheese, charcuterie and wine. The curveball? I am wheelchair bound and the “walking” tour was easy to roll with only 1 narrow doorway. The best experience of our Paris stay. Thanks Patrick.
