Romain Lamon spent years cooking in palace hotels before opening a neighborhood bistro in the 9th arrondissement, and the gap between his training and his prices is where the pleasure lies. The lunch formula — two courses for 22€, three for 26€ — is one of the better deals in Paris, and the daily specials push further: oysters in dashi, white asparagus with Espelette sabayon and trout eggs, desserts that pair chocolate mousse with za’atar ice cream. The room on rue de Milan is compact and casual, with a wine barrel on the sidewalk and a crowd that is almost entirely local. The wine list is natural and Loire-forward, with bottles from 31€. Open Monday and easy to book.
