Bonjour Meg,
My husband and I took our son and his family to Paris last Christmas. I was in a quandary as to where to have Christmas lunch, and I stumbled upon Brasserie Lutetia. It was not cheap; however, it was not as expensive as some of the other high-end hotels.
The service was wonderful as was the food. The upstairs room was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the downstairs tree in the entrance was breathtaking. This is an option that people should consider. The wait staff was incredibly kind to our two grandchildren who enjoyed watching a French family at the next table devour a tower of oysters. We would go back in a heartbeat.
An after lunch bonus was a walk in the Luxembourg Gardens where the kids let off some steam.
