magma restaurant in paris

Chef Ryuya Ono is making a name for himself at Magma with precision cooking and innovative combinations – like this expertly rendered monkfish with broccoli florets, buttermilk, and trout eggs. The dining room is bare and cramped, but the food makes up for it. At lunch, you can order à la carte, select a three course menu for 33€, or do the whole seven course tasting menu for 70€. At night and on weekends, you can order à la carte or by tasting menu (70€).

IN OTHER WORDS

  • Michelin Guide “Like magma, Japanese chef Ryuya Ono (former second of Table) fusions French haute cuisine with his own constantly renewed inspiration and gourmet instincts. The result is a menu that can change daily. His signature dessert, meringue filled with cherry tomatoes and vine peach sorbet, is a gourmet gem of fiendish appeal. A black and white tiled floor, olive green bench seating, modern wooden furniture, a mirror and a vintage bar paint the inviting picture.”
  • Le Fooding “Magma mia! Things are bubbling away around Oberkampf, where this sleek new restaurant (patterned tiling, olive green banquettes, atmospheric light fixtures) sends out fiery yet delicate dishes.”
  • Eater “The carefully studied interior of this handsome modern bistro — olive-green banquettes, globe lamps, dark wood tables, stenciled tile floors, and custom-made ceramic tableware — is a perfect reflection of the casually stylish Oberkampf quarter of the 11th arrondissement. Japanese-born chef Ryuya Ono serves an intriguingly creative menu of refined dishes with potent flavors.”
