Poget & De Witte operates as a tiny oyster bar on the Île Saint-Louis, specializing in oysters sourced directly from oyster farmer Thierry Poget’s beds in Marennes-Oléron. The menu is simple: fresh oysters by the half-dozen or dozen, plus caviar, shrimp, smoked salmon, and champagne pairings.
Seating is extremely limited—about a dozen seats total between a handful of sidewalk tables and a few indoor spots. The outdoor tables offer Pantheon views, which elevates the experience considerably. Reservations strongly recommended given the tiny capacity.
Quality is reliable, prices reasonable for Paris oyster standards (€20-30 per person). Best utility: spontaneous oyster lunch near Notre-Dame when weather permits outdoor seating.
